Sean Macauley is the clinical director at YFSHK. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT, Sean supervises a staff of professional, empathetic and experienced counselors and graduate level interns with a non-judgmental approach. Our staff believes our clients are the influence. We put a firm emphasis on the relationship between counselor and client and take the time for form that bond to allow the possibility of optimal growth. Our clinical department is passionate about challenging the STIGMA that the seeking of mental health services comes with. We greatly respect any community member that seeks outside themselves or their families asking for help. We look forward to being a resource for those families that find themselves in need.
YFSHK provides a comprehensive list of counseling services for members of the Haddam, Haddam Neck, Killingworth, Higganum and the surrounding areas within the Connecticut community. We understand that every case is different and aim to work closely with your family’s needs and schedule to identify a program that works for you – whether this may be just a short-term intervention or an extended process.
Payment for Services: YFSHK takes Husky, Cigna and Anthem Blue Cross insurance. We also utilize a sliding scale fee to help clients with payment. No one is turned away due to inability to pay.

For counseling to be most effective, we ask that you actively participate in the process by not only being physically present, but also honest and open about the issues you’re facing. Our goal is to help you better understand the cause of these challenges and take action in an effective, sustainable, positive manner. In the end, we aim to support and encourage you to achieve personal goals and improve quality of life.
At YFSHK we comply with the Professional Code of Ethics and therefore all sessions and information will remain completely confidential. In the case of children and adolescents, we also work closely with the local school system to integrate a treatment that will be support the clients, should this be necessary. Please understand that if safety could be an issue, law may mandate that information be reported.
